A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control on the Internet. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name System (DNS). A domain name becomes immediately accessible to Internet users from all over the world once it has been registered. Hence, unlike real life, a domain allows for greater flexibility as unrestricted numbers of users can visit you at your "electronic location." You can personalize your online presence by being the registered owner of your own unique domain name.

To check on whether the domain name you have in mind is still available, please use the WHOIS function. You should enter your proposed domain name (e.g. skybiz.com.my) without the www. prefix into the search field provided. Thereafter, if your proposed domain name has already been taken/registered, the WHOIS function will display the name of the existing Registrant, date of creation of the domain name, date of expiry of the domain name and other information. You may wish to note that search results indicating "Not Found" and "No Match" do not imply that your proposed domain name is definitely available for your use. These search results may mean that your proposed domain name is in the process of being registered in another part of the world. As a general guideline, you can only confirm the availability of your proposed domain name during the actual process of attempting to register it.

You may wish to request that your Domain Name Registrar modifies your Domain Name Server (DNS) to SkyBiz. Please approach our friendly sales consultant for the DNS details, which may vary according to server availability. A unique username and password will be provided to you for the purpose of making further modifications.

1. Contact the current domain vendor retrieve the EPP or Authorization code and unlock the domain transfer status.
2. Make sure the whois contact information is correct as we will be sending a verification code to the email address listed. If domain privacy is "on" this will not work, please turn off privacy before this step.
3. When domain name transfer initial, our domain registrar will send an authorized email to the administrator email address. If you do not have access to this email address, contact the current registrar and update the WHOIS contact information.
4. Follow the authorized email instruction and approve domain transfer.

To recap - under the new .MY domain name billing cycle, expired domains will be automatically suspended and can no longer be used. Expired domains will enter Renewal Grace Period for 45 days where you can renew it at the normal domain price. If no payment is received, your domain will enter Redemption Grace Period for another 30 days where you can renew it at double the normal domain price. After that, you can no longer renew your domain name as it heads into Pending Delete phase (5 days) before being deleted and released to the public market.
